Teacher's page!
This web-quest was created with the purpose of giving a fun project/activity for the kids (inteded for sixth graders, but it can be used with 4th to 8th grade students with intermediate English level) As explained in the conclusion, we want to develop creative abilities in the kids as the same time they are practicing what they already know.
If you want to use this WEB QUEST we recomend to have previous classes about food, health, recipes, and places in the neighborhood before delivering this task, it will be easier for your students. Remember to evaluate and grade not what they know, but how they use it. Asses them, this way you will give them an oportunity to use the language in a real activity setting; your student will apreciate it more and they will be more motivated.
Do not forget to make any further coments and you are free to use this web quest as you pleased.
Thank you, and have an excellent class!
We were inspired by Jenna Smith, How_Do_You_End_Your_School_Year? blog entry. Check on it, it gives you the complete description of the activity with a twist.

following steps:
PART 1:
PART 1:
1. Starting from the plan given by your teacher (as shown in the example below) you must design a restaurant starting from the layout, as contractors do.
- Here, the designer can take the lead, you must not forget the parking area, kitchen, restrooms and dining area. (Feel free to add more areas if you want, also you can draw the furniture and appliances)
REMEMBER:
a. 1 block = 1 meter
b. Each area must be colored using a
different color(as in the picture) and specified in the Restaurant Key list , also given by your teacher (as shown below)

2. The day assigned by your teacher
your team will present and explain the design to your teacher and classmates.
a. Remember that creativity will be graded.
b. Do not forget to name your
restaurant.
PART 2:
Let’s start designing the menu!
PART 2:
